The president of the Brazilian Society of Cardiology, Marcelo Queiroga, accepted the invitation of President Jair Bolsonaro to become Minister of Health. Bolsonaro confirmed Queiroga's appointment in a conversation with supporters on arrival at the Palacio da Alvorada. "[He] has everything, in my opinion, to do a good job, continuing everything Pazuello has done until today," declared Bolsonaro in a speech shared by a Bolsonaro website. Queiroga will be the fourth to fill the post in 12 months of the pandemic. Before Pazuello, the doctors were Luiz Henrique Mandetta and Nelson Teich for 28 days. "With regard to vaccines, a very bold program, more than 400 million doses will be contracted by the end of the year. This month we will receive more than 4 million vaccines, and this policy of mass vaccination will continue to be increasingly present in our government," said Bolsonaro. The president also said that Queiroga, in addition to vaccination, will promote other programs to reduce the number of deaths from Covid-19 in Brazil. He also praised the administration of Pazuello.
