The Project's has been forced to defend her fellow panelist from one of his biggest critics during an awkward exchange on live radio this week. Harris appeared on The Kyle And Jackie O show on Monday to promote the Channel 10 current affairs show, but was left squirming in her seat after host accused Aly of being too 'woke'. Sandilands has been a vocal critic of Aly in recent years, having previously labelled him ' ' for 'trying to push a leftist agenda' like climate change on his TV show. Things became awkward early in the interview after Sandilands asked Harris how she deals with 'wishy washy' panelists on The Project who don't have a good sense of humour. Harris hit back, insisting that Kate Langbroek and Aly were both happy to joke around on the show. While Sandilands agreed that Langbroek was entertaining, he couldn't say the same about Aly. 'I never see the humour. When I watch him [I think] he's clever. Sometimes I learn a few things. But I believe that he's like [KIIS FM newsreader] Brooklyn [Ross] - smothered in the wokeness and can't see the red flags.' His co-host Jackie 'O' Henderson agreed, saying the Monash University lecturer should 'just pull back', adding: 'It's like, a lot right now'. Scrambling to defend Aly, Harris cryptically claimed that Sandilands and Henderson 'would be surprised', adding: 'I think he's just a bit of a moving target. He's a contrarian and he's got a pretty big brain.' 'He likes to throw it both sides. He's a lawyer,' she added, prompting Sandilands to respond: 'I don't think he does throw it both sides. I really don't think he does.' 'Well, he likes to get other people's point of views and he doesn't, if you watch him, he actually doesn't really put his own point of view across closely,' Harris insisted. Sandilands, still unconvinced, scoffed: 'That is refreshing because I don't want to know his point of view, personally. ' Harris attempted to prove her point by claiming that Aly previously told her she should always present 'both sides of the story' when presenting news on The Project. Sandilands simply shrugged: 'Listen, I don't know him. I'm taking your word for it', prompting Harris to hastily change the topic.
